Busy last two days

Yesterday and today was spent at official meetings, but I'm happy to say the last two days in Nanchang are for touring. We head to Guangzhou Friday for the final leg of our trip.

Chloe is doing great, she is stuck to me like glue. :)

Gotcha Day

What a day!!! We got Chloe Li today :))
She's been a trooper, she had a meltdown when we gave her a bath, but hat was short lived.

The orphanage director says she has big eyes like me...I've been told she has davenport nose like Ronnie, so it evens out :)

She's a good eater, she had a bottle shortly after we got her, since then she had a bowl of congee, half of a mashed banana, and half of another bottle and she's out like a light!

Jade Factory Tour

We toured the jade factory yesterday, we got to see the carvers at work. It's just amazing how beautiful the statues are!

Snowing in Beijing

Yesterday we saw the sights in Beijing. We went to the Great Wall, Tiananman Square, we toured the forbidden city. We also went to the Jade Factory. I do have pics but I was having some issues with the wifi.

Its 2:30am here and Im drinking starbucks in my room. We leave for the airport at 5:30, we are heading to Nanchang.

It was rainy and cold yesterday during touring, I look out the window and see it turned to snow last night.

Keep your fingers crossed our flight isnt delayed!

Oh and traffic is NUTS NUTS NUTS here! I think I'd have a heart attack if i had to drive in it. now lets add snow, lol.

Hard to believe we actually get Chloe Li in a few hours!!!!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know we made it to our hotel in Beijing. It was an incredibly long flight :)

It's 7:06pm here and we are whooped!! Here's a view from our room at the Poly Plaza hotel.

Thursday Flight?...Hope is restored!

There was alot of concern whether or not Newark airport would be open by our Thursday flight.
I was ready to switch flights tonight...

Then my brother called me to wish us well on our trip,  I told him we were worried about not making our flight, he offered to start a prayer chain.

After I hung up the phone, I got word that electricity was restored to the Newark area.

Now I see that port authority announced limited flights will resume tomorrow.  We are sticking to our original plan.  Driving to Newark tomorrow, checking into the Marriott and hoping and praying our flight takes off on schedule.

Hurricane Sandy

So we are flying out of Newark Thursday. We are supposed to drive to NJ on Wednesday, stay the night then shuttle over for our flight.

Now we have to deal with Hurricane Sandy. The worse should be over by Wednesday, but I'm worried about flooding, downed trees, power outages etc.

But....if there is even one road open, I will find it :)

Last Day of Work!!!! Woohoo!!!

Today is my last day of work!  Lots to do before the big trip.  This weekend is all about packing.

We've got TA!!

We have Travel Approval!  It's looking like we'll be leaving around 11/1.  All October Consulate appointments are already full.  This is the soonest we can go.  Waiting for confirmation from agency....

Visa's....DONE!

We got out visa's on friday, one more thing out of the way!  We hope to get TA (Travel Approval) by next week.  Then we find out when we go.

We are going to be naming the baby Chloe Li.

Did I tell you what Ronnie wanted to name her?.........

Yuengling....lol, yep.... that's what I'm dealing with here...

Article 5!

We received email from US Consulate saying our Article 5 has been issued, YAY!
Now just waiting for TA!!

Adoption Timeline

As we all know, this adoption has taken much longer than we thought it would. 

Currently we are waiting for Article 5, then we wait for Travel Approval....then we can make our consulate appointment and book our flights.  When we go depends on how soon the consulate appointment is.

Finding Ad

Before a orphanage in China can declare a child eligible for adoption, they must place an ad in local paper.  We were lucky enough to get a copy of the actual newspaper she was listed in.

Translation:  
On November 25, 2011, an abandoned baby was found at the gate of the Yugan County Social Welfare Institute.  Name is Yue Li Mian, Female.  She was born on November 25, 2011.  Characteristics of body: She has an oval face, single-eyelids, and black hair.

Our agency was able to get updated pics for us, yay! My how she is growing!

Meet Li Mian Yue Born 11/25/2011 in Jiangxi, China

On 6/25/12, we received the call!  CCCWA has matched our family with little Li Mian Yue.  She was born 11/25/11 in Yugan County, Jiangxi, China.  We are overjoyed!!
